Terms of Service
These terms set out the deal between you and Gyan Guru when you use our platform, whether as a student/learner enrolling in a class/session, a tutor/speaker hosting one, or a visitor browsing the site.

1. About these terms
Welcome to Gyan Guru. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Gyan Guru, a learning platform based in Nepal and operated at gyanguru.com.np.
By creating an account, enrolling in a class, booking a consultation, or teaching/conduction a session on the platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Gyan Guru is designed for school but not limited to, higher-studies, and early-college learners in Nepal and the teachers who support them.
- You must be at least 16 years old to hold your own account. If you are younger, a parent or legal guardian must set up and supervise the account, and they accept these Terms on your behalf.
- Teachers must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate qualifications, and complete our verification process before publishing any content.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. Please do not share your account. If you think someone else has signed in, contact us immediately at meet@gyanguru.com.np.
- The information you give us during sign-up or profile completion must be accurate. You can update it at any time from your profile page.
3. What Gyan Guru offers
Gyan Guru provides:
- Live classes: scheduled group classes delivered by verified teachers over Google Meet, built around a curriculum you can enroll in.
- Webinars: free or paid, one-time or recurring online talks from teachers and guest speakers.
- One-on-one consultations: private sessions you can book with a teacher for focused help.
- Teacher tools: a dashboard for teachers to publish classes, schedule sessions, see enrollments, and track payouts.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We will give you reasonable notice of changes that affect paid content you are already enrolled in.
4. Students: enrollments and conduct
- When you enroll in a class, consultation, or paid webinar, you agree to the price and schedule shown at checkout and to any teacher-specific rules listed on that page.
- Live session links, including Google Meet URLs, are for your personal use. Please do not share them, re-stream the session, or record it without the teacher's explicit consent.
- Be respectful in the classroom and in chat. Harassment, hate speech, cheating, or disrupting a session can result in removal from that session and suspension from the platform and the involved individual will be reported to the authorities if necessary.
- Reviews and ratings should reflect your real experience. Please do not post fake, defamatory, or paid-for reviews.
5. Teachers: content and obligations
Teaching on Gyan Guru is a commitment to students who are paying for your time. As a teacher, you agree to:
- Provide honest information about your qualifications, experience, and the curricula you cover, and update it when it changes.
- Only publish content you own or have the right to share. Course materials, slides, and handouts must not infringe anyone else's copyright or trademark.
- Show up on time for every scheduled session, or reschedule it in advance through the dashboard. Repeated no-shows can lead to suspension and to refunds being issued at your cost.
- Teach in a professional, respectful, age-appropriate way. Inappropriate conduct toward students, especially minors, will be reported to the authorities and is grounds for immediate termination.
- Keep your contact and bank account details up to date so that payouts can be processed on time.
6. Google services and integrations
Gyan Guru uses several Google services to run the product:
- Sign in with Google is offered as a convenient way to create or sign in to your account. We receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google, as covered in the Privacy Policy.
- Google Calendar and Google Meet are used by teachers to host live sessions. When a teacher schedules a session, we create an event on their primary Google Calendar and attach a Google Meet link, which is shared with enrolled students.
Use of these Google services on Gyan Guru is also subject to Google's own terms, including the Google Terms of Service and, where relevant, the Google Meet terms.
7. Payments, fees, and payouts
Prices for classes, consultations, and paid webinars are shown on the product page and at checkout. All prices are in Nepali Rupees (NPR) unless otherwise stated and include applicable taxes where required by law.
- Payments are processed by eSewa. When you pay, you are redirected to eSewa to complete the transaction. Your card, bank, or wallet details are handled by eSewa and are not stored on our servers.
- An enrollment is only confirmed after we receive a successful payment confirmation from payment gateways such as esewa, fonepay, etc as applicable. If the confirmation does not arrive, any held amount is released as per their policies.
- Gyan Guru charges a service fee on paid content published by teachers. The fee rate is shown in the teacher dashboard and is deducted from the price the student pays, with the remainder paid out to the teacher.
- Payouts to teachers are issued on a regular schedule to the bank account or eSewa account on file. We may hold payouts that are subject to disputes, chargebacks, or fraud investigations until they are resolved.
8. Refunds and cancellations
All our payment gateway partners do not offer automated refunds at this time, so such eligible refund is processed manually by our team and reflected as a ledger adjustment to the original payer.
- Teacher no-show or cancellation: if a teacher cancels or reschedules a scheduled session or does not show up, you can request a full refund or enroll in a rescheduled session within 7 days of the missed session.
- Platform outage: if a session is disrupted by a Gyan Guru outage that prevents it from being delivered, we will refund the session or reschedule it.
- Change of mind: for multi-session classes, you can request a pro-rated refund subject to charges for sessions that have not yet started, up to 24 hours before the next scheduled session.
- Completed sessions that you attended are generally not refundable, except where required by law.
- Failure to attend the sesson doesn't qualify for a refund.
To request a refund, email meet@gyanguru.com.np from the email address on your account with the order reference. We will respond within 5 working days and, once approved, issue the refund within 10 working days.
9. Content, licenses, and takedowns
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you upload to Gyan Guru, including teacher course materials, banners, thumbnails, profile images, reviews, and messages. By uploading it, you grant Gyan Guru a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, and adapt it strictly to operate and promote the platform (for example, to render your class card, deliver your lesson to enrolled students, and show a preview on search). This license ends when you delete the content, except to the extent we have to keep copies for legal or backup reasons.

11. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time by contacting us. When you do, we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, or refuse service if:
- You materially break these Terms.
- Your continued use creates legal, safety, or security risks for other users or for Gyan Guru.
- We are required to do so by law or by a competent authority.
Where possible we will tell you the reason and give you a chance to fix the issue. For serious issues like fraud, safety, or abuse of minors, suspension is immediate.
12. Disclaimers and liability
Gyan Guru is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep the platform running, accurate, and secure, but we cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or delivered by a specific teacher/speaker at a specific time. Educational outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, and we do not guarantee exam scores, admissions, or career results.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gyan Guru is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or loss of data. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform is limited to our terms of use and abiding law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kathmandu, Nepal.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material (for example, new fees or substantial changes to refund rules), we will notify active users by email and, where required, ask for your renewed consent.
